Practically Speaking: An Arts Education Forum

Saturday June 13, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

$10 (includes lunch, pre-registration encouraged)

Arts-educators and artist-educators of all backgrounds are invited to explore the role of arts education in a challenging time, through hands-on workshops, forum discussions, and information sharing sessions. Topics include artistic censorship, the impact of the arts on educational setting, and new opportunities for partnerships between educators and arts organizations. Practical hands-on workshops with acclaimed practitioners will provide arts-educators with new ideas for their tool-kits, and enliven some of the old standards. Confirmed panelists include Bruce Barton (University of Toronto) and Sheena Robertson (KickStart Arts). Confirmed workshops include Playwriting in the Classroom (with Debbie Barton Moore and Victoria Dawe) and Teambuilding by Non-Traditional Means (with Paula Wing).
